about the artist
I was born in 1964 in Bedford (UK). I attended Bedford High School For Girls, leaving in 1982 after gaining a place at The Slade School Of Fine Art. I gained a postgraduate place at The Slade to be started in 1987. From 1986-1987 I won The David Bailey Scholarship in Landscape Painting which I took in South West France.
After leaving The Slade in 1989 I won the Boise Travel Award taken in New York. I then taught at The New York Studio School in New York.
currently
Since 1990 I have lived as a professional painter showing my work mainly in London. I regularly undertake commissions, both landscapes and portraits. I have won many prestigious awards and my work is in private collections in London, Paris, Italy, Texas, New York and Switzerland.
The joy I find in teaching is to help the pupil to find their own voice. It is inspiring to help students with their visual skills including perspective colour, and to encourage them to link their thoughts and visual “ handwriting “.
